Teaching was the real life work of Dot . . . from her days as a horsemanship instructor, to flight instructor, to unviversal teacher at Orme (physics, biology, history, art), ceramics / enameling / graphics instructing at ISOMATA, development of the Fine Arts Festival, elderhostel for seniors in Palm Springs.
And of course, so many other teachers who were her friends, Peg Dornish of Claremont Graduate School, Pat Clark of Hunter College, University of Wisoncisn, Long Beach State, Win Wood - Idyllwild, Escondido, San Marcos, Jim and Betty Wilbanks, Seth Thomas, the faculties of the Orme School, the Orme Fine Arts Festival, such as Jim Ciletti, Jay Dusard, Maurice Grossman, so many others there and at ISOMATA . . . and more recently Harinani Orme, Dot's student, now a teacher herself, who taught in Santa Barbara and now is embarked on a special teaching project in Hawaii . . . .
Jim Ciletti is a poet now residing in Colorado, recruited by Dot for the Fine Arts Festival, where he has participated for more than 38 years, one of the artist-teachers who has made this event so special.
