Dogs were around Dot's life almost all the time . . . back from the hills of North Carolina where she was raised, to the extraordinary "Jody", a dog so well-mannered and adjusted that she attended Claremont Graduate from time to time, between important duties on the plains of Arizona and in the pine-needled woods of Idyllwild. A side note: her brother Bob, as a North Carolina senator, introduced legislation that established the "Plott Hound" as the official State Dog of North Carolina.
